Villa Antiqua

Villa Antiqua is a unique holiday home with a swimming pool in the ancient town of Osor on the island of Cres and is a great option for a relaxing holiday in complete privacy. Villa Antiqua is built on a fully fenced property of 660 square meters which is a great option for families with children and pets who are welcome here. Interestingly, the ancient Venetian wall (about 3.5 meters high) forms the eastern border of the courtyard and is part of the city walls, while the southern border is the ancient Roman wall which is also part of the city walls. Due to the high walls and numerous greenery surrounding the property, the privacy of guests is ensured. On the property is an outdoor pool surrounded by sun loungers ideal for relaxing after swimming. A little further from the pool in the natural shade you can find a swing to relax and enjoy your favorite book as well as a dining table ideal for evening socializing. Next to the house there is an outdoor grill for preparing your favorite barbecue dishes, and near the house there is enough parking space for guests.

Villa Antiqua is a stone house over 130 years old that was completely renovated in 2016 for a relaxing holiday for guests. It is 130 square meters big and spread over 2 floors and can comfortably accommodate 7 (+2) people. On the ground floor there is a living room with a stone wall, wooden beams and a fireplace for extra charm, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. On the ground floor there is also one bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs are 2 more bedrooms and an additional shared bathroom. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have double beds, and one has an extra pull-out bed.

Villa Antiqua is located just across from the small marina, where sailboats and larger motor boats can be moored. If you prefer an active type of vacation, you can hike on the nearby mountain Osorčica with the highest peak of 588 meters.
An interesting fact is that the islands of Cres and Lošinj were once an island called Lošinj, before the Osor canal was dug. Today, Osor is located near the canal that separates the islands of Cres and Lošinj, and the islands are connected by a rotating bridge. In Osor you can see the ancient town square surrounded by beautiful buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, the bishop's palace, the cathedral and the bell tower from the beginning of the Christian era. Passing through the city, you can come across many sculptures made by the great Croatian artist Ivan Meštrović. During the summer months, the city becomes an open-air stage for the Osor Music Evenings, which have been held every year in the summer months since 1976. Stroll through the city and explore its rich history, enjoy the shade of old pine trees on the property or visit the nearest beach just 250 meters away.
